Some often think that whatever they have done is too much to be forgiven, I am here to happily prove you wrong. The bible repeats a phrase over, and over, and over again many times, “his mercy endureth for ever”.
1 Chronicles 16:34 “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever”.
Psalm 100:5 “For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations”.
Psalm 106:1 “Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever”.
Psalm 107:1 “O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever”.
Psalm 117:1-2 “O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord”.
Psalm 118:1 “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever”.
Psalm 136:1 “O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever”.
Lamentations 3:22-23 “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness”.
A definition of mercy: Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. In some of these verces “mercy” can be replaced with either love or grace.
An old Hebrew custom is “repetition shows importance”. I think God wanted us to know how great and powerful his mercy is.
How much mercy does God have? Enough that it lasts FOR EVER. All time. Beyond time.
God’s love and mercy outlast the state you are in right now. They outlast your struggle. They outlast your sin.
No matter where you have been, where your are now, or the trouble you may come into one day, God’s love and mercy are already there.
Come to Him with your problems and past sin. Cast your cares on Him. “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
There is not anything that God cannot do, remember, He created the universe.
His mercy is greater than anything you may have done. Hi has enough forgiveness for EVERYONE.
There is no hole too deep that He can not lift you out of.
Thank you Jesus for all that you do for me, and your mercy and forgiveness that I receive so undeservingly. You are not weak, and there is nothing that you cannot do!
